Specialist Physician/Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine

Rehabilitation Medicine at Sandviken Hospital receives patients from all over Gävleborg County and offers highly specialized interventions. Our operations focus particularly on the rehabilitation of patients with brain injuries, strokes, and traumatic injuries, as well as spinal cord injuries and chronic pain issues. The facility consists of a ward with twelve beds, two day care places, and a clinic where we work in multidisciplinary teams, such as pain rehabilitation teams, brain rehabilitation teams, and spinal cord injury teams.

We are now looking for an engaged specialist physician/consultant who wants to contribute to our continued development and provide patients with the best possible rehabilitation in the ward.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a physician with us, you will be part of an engaged, interdisciplinary team consisting of physicians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, nursing assistants, social workers, nurses, psychologists, leisure leaders, rehabilitation assistants, speech therapists, and rehabilitation coordinators. Together, we work to provide our patients with high-quality and individualized rehabilitation. We conduct our operations with a ward for neurorehabilitation focusing on patients with strokes, acquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological diseases, and multiple traumas. As a physician with us, you play a central role in ensuring and further developing rehabilitation interventions of the highest quality.

As a specialist physician/consultant with us, you will work with:

• having overall medical responsibility for patients' rehabilitation and a leading and coordinating role in the team
• responsibility for referral assessment and prioritization in collaboration with the medical group of the operation and the department with a referral group consisting of the operations manager/deputy operations manager and physiotherapist/occupational therapist
• actively contributing to the development and quality work of the operation
• supervising ST physicians in rehabilitation medicine, physicians in training.

QUALIFICATIONS

We value collaboration skills in a team-based work environment. You have a holistic view of the operation and are interested in contributing to development. As we are an educational operation, we are looking for someone with good pedagogical skills who can adapt their communication style to the needs of the recipient.

In the role of specialist physician/consultant, you should:

• be a licensed physician
• have specialist competence in rehabilitation medicine, neurology, general medicine, or internal medicine
• have good knowledge of the Swedish language both in speech and writing.
